The Ins & Outs of Our Swimming Pool Heater Options

Nothing beats stepping into a nice, warm swimming pool to relax and have some fun on a summer day. Actually, it's great in the wintertime too, but for that you need a reliable pool heater. All Pro Pool & Spa Repair provides professional swimming pool heater installation and service for homeowners throughout the Fort Pierce, Sebastian, and Vero Beach, FL region. We work with all the most common types of heaters and can help our customers make an informed decision about the best option for their needs. Read on to learn about the features and benefits of gas pool heaters, electric pool heaters, and solar pool heaters:

  • Gas Pool Heaters: This type of swimming pool heater uses natural gas or propane to generate heat. They are able to heat up a pool rather quickly and cost-effectively, and then maintain a consistent temperature from there. This makes them ideal for larger swimming areas.
  • Electric Pool Heaters: These units generate heat through electricity, which is then transferred to the pool water. They are known for being easy to use, energy efficient, and quieter than gas heaters. They also typically require minimal maintenance. which makes them a popular choice for many pool owners.
  • Solar Pool Heaters: Solar swimming pool heaters utilize energy from the sun as their heat source. This is the most environmentally friendly option, and while they may require more of an investment upfront, the savings will pay off in the long run. Their heating process is generally slower but will still allow you to extend your swimming season without having to rely on gas or electricity.

Now that you understand a bit more about these different types of swimming pool heaters, you can use factors like the size of your pool, your budget, and your personal preferences to make a smart choice. Then, call us to schedule your swimming pool heater installation in Fort Pierce, Sebastian, Vero Beach, or the surrounding areas!

When you have a swimming pool, you want to get all the use you can out of it! However, if you don’t properly clean and maintain your swimming pool, no one will want to swim in green, dirty water. Properly maintaining your swimming pool can also prevent parts and filters from malfunctioning. If you are having issues keeping your pool looking its best, here are 5 pool maintenance tips from All Pro Pool & Spa Repair Service Inc. 1. Check & Balance Chemical Levels If chemicals in your pool are not balanced correctly it can cause many problems. When pH levels are too low it can cause algae growth, bacteria growth, and murky water. When pH levels are too high it can cause skin irritation and damage to pool equipment. A high pH also causes chlorine to become less active, causing people to end up adding too much chlorine to their pool. Chlorine generators are a great way to provide a steady flow of chlorine through your pool. Your pool’s pH level should be between 7.2 and 7.8. 2. Skim Regularly skimming your pool can actually make a big difference in your pool’s appearance! Daily skimming prevents leaves and debris from sinking to the bottom of your pool. You should also scrub your pool to prevent algae buildup and stains. This will help keep your pool looking sparkling clean. 3. Clean Your Filter Your pool’s filter helps remove debris and dirt from the water. Your filter should be properly maintained to keep your pool clean. If you have a cartridge filter, every few weeks you should remove spray down the cartridge or use filter cleaner. If you have D.E. or sand filter you will need to backwash your filter every 1 to 3 months. However, you should chemically clean your D.E. or sand filter at least once a year. 4. Check Water Levels Checking your pool’s water level is very important. If the water level is too low, it can cause your pump to heat up and possibly burn out. You can avoid this by taking a hose and adding more water to your pool. If your water levels are too high, your skimmer will not operate correctly and may not pick up debris. You can avoid this by getting a pump to drain the excess. Autofills are another way to regulate water level. Your pool’s water level should always be halfway up to the opening of your skimmer. 5. Vacuum Your Pool Vacuuming your pool can help remove those hard to reach debris at the bottom. It is recommended to vacuum your pool once a week during active months to prevent algae growth and stains. You can purchase your own pool vacuum and do it yourself or you can hire a pool maintenance service to do it for you.
